Leadership and honesty

Honesty is the foundation of a leader-follower relationship. Unfortunately, many leaders fail to understand that honesty not only means telling the truth but also leaving a good impression on people who you are working with. Albert Einstein conveyed that anyone who is indifferent to the truth in small tasks cannot be trusted in important responsibilities. It is obvious that people who want to follow you are primarily looking to make sure that you deserve this trust. They wish to know if you are trustworthy, moral, and principled. No one likes to be deceived or been told lies, we all prefer the truth. We want a leader who distinguishes between good and evil and pick the good out.

It is true that we all seek victory, but we have no interest in being led by someone who cheats in the process of winning. We want our leader to be honest, because his honesty is a reflection of ours.
Be honest, tell the truth. Let people know where you stand. Be committed to the truth while you are speaking, and do not twist the truth.
