Dead Poets society is one of the best, most influential and inspiring movies which has ever been released in Hollywood. This film was directed in 1989 by Tom Schulman and starring by Robin Williams.
It is about a number of first-year students at Walton College, each with their own weaknesses which prevent them from achieving their goals.
It is one of the most inspiring movies which gives you a sense of independence along with confidence. Confidence is the main theme of the film. To trust ourselves without thinking about secondary issues and to do what we think is the best and not to regret it.
Keating is an unorthodox teacher who teaches his students that a dream, no matter how beautiful, is just a dream. What is the truth is yourselves, so find yourselves in the universe, not in your dreams.
Having goals is the most valuable thing in your life; goals give your life meaning and direction and frees the mortal body as a hopeful soul. But as always, every valuable thing has an enemy or a weakness that prevents flourishing talents. The biggest enemy of the goal is fear. The film speaks of this fear, the fear which is lurking in every moment of our lives and prevents us from achieving our heart’s desire.
This film can be used to better understanding of issues such as independence, self-confidence and overcoming fears.
